The Hoffman Rise opened their 2008 season with the first MAFTL weekend at Prescott Field and Stover's Dam Park in Lebanon, PA.  Playing five-inning games due to a rain delay, The Rise finished the tournament with a 2-2 overall record.  Led by pitcher, Tom Vogel, they secured a 4-3 win against Keatings Fitness, as well as a 3-0 victory over PA Power with pitcher, Mike Smith.  After a 5-4 loss to ADCO in game three, The Rise were eliminated from the first round of playoffs by the New York Knights in a rain-shortened, 5-0 game.

The Rise also would like to welcome recent additions Joe Cevette, Justin Cevette and Bryan Miller formerly of Elkland Fastptich; Ryan Cummings of the Tavistock Merchants; and old friend Steve Stires formerly of the Quaker Riversharks.  Thanks to Cevette, Cevette, Miller and Stires for their immediate contribution to the team!  Cummings will make his first appearance at the June 13-15 CPI Classic in Oswego, NY.
